The Garment Maker (and associated Garment Manufacturing) courses under the Utkarsh Bangla scheme are designed to train candidates in apparel design, cutting, stitching, and industrial tailoring.
Course Structure and Duration
Garment Manufacturing (Standard): Lasts 390 hours to 650 hours depending on the specific tier structure assigned by the training center.
Garment Maker with Electives (Hand Embroidery & Batik Work): Lasts 450 hours.
Garment Maker with Electives (Business Setup, Embroidery & Batik): Lasts 510 hours
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Standard Garment Manufacturing: Minimum Class 8 pass.
Advanced Elective Tracks: Minimum Class 10 pass (or a Class 8 pass combined with 2–3 years of verifiable relevant industry experience)
Career Opportunities
Immediate Employment: Graduates typically find placement as production tailors, sampling assistants, or industrial assembly operators in regional textile clusters and corporate export houses.
Entrepreneurship: After gaining 2 years of practical industrial experience, candidates are formally encouraged to set up independent tailoring boutiques or micro-scale textile production businesses.
